Navotas Mayor Toby Tiangco has issued guidelines and restrictions for residents of the city that will be placed under a two-week lockdown starting this week.

In an executive order he signed Monday night, Tiangco said delivery of food coming from outside of Navotas will not be allowed during the period of lockdown — from 5 a.m. of July 16 to 11:59 p.m. of July 29.

Barber shops will also be closed, Tiangco said, as the following establishments and businesses will be the only ones allowed to operate: government offices, public transport, agriculture and fisheries, essential goods manufacturers, hospitals and clinics, essential retail, laundry shops, food preparation, logistic service providers, delivery services, utilities and repair and installation.

Also allowed will be telecommunication companies, gasoline stations, public construction, construction products manufacturers, administrative and support offices, funeral and embalming services, banks and other financial institutions and services, legal and accounting, hardware stores, and public and private schools.

Dine-in services at restaurants and fast food chains will once again be prohibited.

The executive order will also return stricter quarantine measures, which were previously imposed when Metro Manila was still under enhanced community quarantine.

This means that residents should observe stay-at-home protocols and they will only be allowed to go outside their houses to go to the market or buy medicines on their scheduled day.

Exempted workers may go outside the city should they be able to present their company identification card or certificate of employment.

The Navotas Fish Port Complex will remain open to the public, but brokers should ensure that their customers follow social distancing and the use of face masks, Tiangco said.
