THE seemingly problem-free screen partnership of Edward Barber and Maymay Entrata is now being tested.

It all started with a fan re­vealing via social media how Edward had been sup­posedly canoodling with a non-showbiz girl unbeknownst to Maymay.

Eager to circumvent fan rage, the duo has since come out with a state­ment clarify­ing the real score between them.

“Sa loob po ng tatlong taon na nandito ang Mayward, nakita niyo po at na­rinig niyo mula mismo sa aming dalawa ang tunay na nararam­daman namin para sa isa’t isa…

“Masaya at masarap po sa pakiramdam ang idea ng isang romantic re­lationship, but as we go along our journey, we realize na hindi bas­ta-basta lang to get into a relationship…

“Pareho po namin na-realize na sa estado ng buhay namin ngay­on, we both are still very young and there is so much more we still want to achieve in our lives…

“Pareho po namin na-realize that being the best of friends will even be more beneficial for us…

“Wala pong pagbabago. Kami pa din ang magkasama dahil there’s no one else we would rather work with than each other…”

Though most fans were quickly assuaged, not a few grumbled.

It didn’t help that Maymay also supposedly removed all of Ed­ward’s photos on her Instagram account.
