SAY A PRAYER: The coronavirus scare calls to mind the dedication and commitment of our health workers, the main front liners battling this disease that has put down mankind on its feet.

Let’s keep praying for the welfare and safety of our doctors, nurses and other health professionals manning our hospitals and clinics. Many of them have not been spared by the virus, nine doctors have died so far. We hope the number stops there.

We also pray for the rest of the front liners in our society, the people who man the groceries and markets, media men and women, policemen and soldiers, those who run our barangays, drivers and assorted workers who go out to the streets to keep the engines of our lives working.

ABS-CBN has a series of public service announcements reminding the people to be more careful as the country fights COVID-19. Network’s Pantawid ng Pag-ibig fundraising has raised over 256 million pesos thus far, and counting.

On her Facebook account, former ABS-CBN president Charo Santos-Concio thanked the public for supporting Pantawid ng Pag-ibig.

THEN AND NOW: TV viewers are having a field day comparing notes as networks air reruns of their old programs in the time of COVID-19.

On ABS-CBN, we witness a quite young Maja Salvador and an even more innocent-looking Zaijian Jaranilla in “May Bukas Pa.”

“Encantadia” harks back to the time Iza Calzado was still with GMA. Hope Iza’s well now.
