5 drug suspects yield P13.6-M shabu in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested on Sunday morning five alleged drug dealers and confiscated from them some P13.6 million worth of shabu in front of a fast-food chain in Barangay San Jose Gusu, this city.

PDEA Director Jacquelyn de Guzman said PDEA agents backed by policemen conducted a buy-bust operation at about at 10:45 a.m..

De Guzman identified the arrested suspects as Jumdatol B. Mohamod, 51, female; Yacub S. Alih, 39; Pae T. Kamsa, 39; Warid Palahudin, 62; and Julim H. Salapuddin, 29.

They recovered from the suspects close to 2 kilos of shabu in two transparent re-sealable plastic bags.

Also confiscated during the operation were two  paper bags, one black cellophane wrapped with brown packaging tape, five  cellular phones, and one public utility jeepney.

De Guzman said cases for violation of Section 26 in relation to Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (The Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) will be filed in court against the suspects. (Nonoy E. Lacson)
