ZAMBOANGA CIY – Anti-narcotics operatives from Zamboanga City Police Office seized Thursday some P7.1 million worth of illegal drugs from a big-time drug pusher in this city.
Police Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Luis D. Licup, Police Regional Office for Zamboanga (PRO-9) director, said policemen conducted a buy-bust operation at Wingo Drive, Pantano, Barangay San Roque in his city at about 3 pm, Thursday.
Licup said the operation resulted in the arrest of Ricky Hassan, 35, of Wingo Drive, Pantano, Barangay San Roque, this city.
According to Licup, policemen confiscated from Hassan 21 large sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P7,140,000.
As this developed, police also arrested Ronel Lim alias “Ronel”, 36, residing at Navarro Court, Sta. Maria, this city.
Confiscated from him were 19 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing shabu with an estimated street value of P15,000 and two fragmentation grenades.
In Ipil, Sibugay province, two suspected drug pusher were also arrested during a follow-up operation Thursday about 10 a.m..
Licup identified the arrested drug pushers as Hasim Lucas Samdani , 29, of Barangay Tenan in Ipil, Sibugay; Jay-ar Abbas Cuarto Cruz, 23, of Barangay Lapaz in Naga town, also in Sibugay province. They yielded 180 grams of shabu. (Nonoy E. Lacson)
