IMUS CITY, Cavite – Confessed shabu user Richard Olivario Alcantara, a supposed “bishop” of the Sacred Order of St. Michael, is a theology graduate, police said Saturday.

Supt. Vicente S. Cabatingan, Bacoor City police officer-on-charge, said that Alcantara, 38, is a Bachelor of Science in Theology graduate and a clergy or priest in Cavite.

A report said that Alcantara, a resident of E. Marquez St., Barangay Sineguelasan, Bacoor, was ordained at the Imus Cathedral here.

Cabatingan said that Alcantara has been seen officiating a mass at a church and blessing houses and vehicles and baptizing children in Cavite.

The Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines has denied that Alcantara is a member of the Catholic clergy.

The bemoustached Alcantara was arrested by police while he was having a pot session with Perlito Bindo Alibay, a 52-year-old fisherman, at Tagumpay Compound, Tabing Dagat, Barangay Alima, Bacoor, at 5 p.m. Thursday. (Anthony Giron)
