THREE men illegally selling guns were killed in a shootout with police during a buy-bust operation in Baseco Compound, Manila, in the wee hours of Monday.

Police identified one of the fatalities as Robert Pagtaluna alias “Obet”.

Initial investigation revealed that the suspects opened fire at the cops after sensing that they were dealing with police.

A brief gunfight ensued along Block 1 of Gasangan, Baseco Compound, resulting in the death of the suspects around 2:10 a.m..

Policed seized from the suspects a motorcycle without plate number, a .45-caliber pistol, a 9mm revolver, a .22-caliber revolver, and .38-caliber revolver, a hand grenade, several live bullets and spent shells of different guns, and undetermined number of small packs of “shabu”. (Ria Fernandez)
