SIX kilos of marijuana allegedly shipped from California, United States were seized inside a two-story house inside a posh subdivision in Ayala-Alabang, Muntinlupa City Sunday.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 3 agents, led by regional director Gil Pabilona, and the Muntinlupa police conducted the buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of two suspects whose identities were withheld.

The marijuana, also known as “kush,” has an estimated street value of R7.2 million.

Following a tip that marijuana was repacked and sold by the suspects, PDEA placed the house under surveillance for a month.

The couple allegedly imported the drug for $22,000 from a contact in California and shipped via parcel.

Pabilona said the suspects were in the middle of a pot session when operatives stormed the house.

The house, which the suspects rented for R1.3 million a year, was also allegedly used as a drug den following the recovery of glass tubes and other drug paraphernalia.

Some of the couple’s customers include celebrities, according to the PDEA official.

“Normally, ‘yung mga customers dito are mga high-end customers, mga celebrities,” Pabilona said.

Follow-up operations on the alleged celebrity users and other customers are under way, according to Pabilona.
