IN THIS CORNER: Now weighing less than 100 lbs, Erich Gonzales is both happy and sad that her series, “The Blood Sisters,” has come to a close at long last.
She says she’s proud to have proven herself equal to the huge task of playing three characters in one show, all at the same time. Producing the six month old series has taken a toll on the Davaoena actress’ health.
She collapsed a few times on the set, got close to hospitalization, but resumed work as soon as she regained her bearing.
Erich earned nothing but praise from her BS co-actors Dina Bonnevie, Cherie Pie Picache and Tessie Tomas. They all found her amazing.
Perhaps, network can assign Erich a super-woman role next. She can be anything, do everything, so brave and bold so daring.

ACTION PICTURES: Erich says she wants to do more action pictures after producing and starring in “We Will Not Die Tonight,” an entry to the recently held Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino 2. She said she did her own stunts in the Richard Sommes film about the sacrifices stuntmen make in the midst of poverty as they work in Philippine movies. She suffered mild electrocution while doing a scene, though.
She calls “Die Tonight” her passion film. “I just wanted to prove that women can be as good as men in doing action scenes.’’

CHEERS: “24 Oras” anchor Mel Tiangco was conferred the “Las Damas de Rizal Excellence Award for Women in Media and Public Engagement” by Las Damas de Rizal-Philippines.
Mel, founder of socio-civic arm GMA Kapuso Foundation, was cited for helping uplift lives of less privileged Filipinos.
