CAMP BANCASI, Butuan City – The New People’s Army (NPA) abandoned a 5-month pregnant comrade in a forested area near Sitio Ulayanon, Barangay Kalabugao, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon province, following a gun battle over the weekend.
1st Lieutenant Tere Ingente, chief of the Public Affairs Office (PAO) of the 4th Infantry Division (4th ID), in a statement said, the woman, whose identity has been withheld for security purposes, is 22 years old.
“She was abandoned by her comrades following the 20 minute-firefight after incurring a wound in the head,” she said.
There were no casualties on the government side. The pregnant NPA amazon is under medical care and is in stable condition.
