NO TO ADOPTION: Unlike other couples, Camille Pratts and her second husband, John Yambao, have no plans to ‘adopt’ her son by a previous marriage.

The former child actress said in a recent press conference that her son, Nathan, will retain his biological father’s surname in honor of his family. Nathan’s father died of cancer a few years ago.

‘Nathan also happens to be the only male grandchild of my in-laws,’ Camille said.

Camille is pregnant with her second child, a baby girl.

The question was raised at the media launch of Camille’s and Nathan’s joint endorsement, Ritemed for Kids, a Unilab brand. The press was curious in the light of Camille’s new status as a newly remarried woman.

There have also been cases when a child by a previous marriage is usually adopted by the new couple for legal purposes, such as swift travels and inheritance.

GIVING TOUGH LOVE: Camille shared how she conducts herself as a mother, giving tough love to Nathan.

‘I want him to enjoy my company, at the same time that I instill discipline in him,’ she said.

Mother and son enjoy great companionship, according to Camille. ‘I want him to develop a liking for the two of us as friends and I think we’re succeeding in that direction,’ she added.

She couldn’t thank Ritemed for Kids enough for asking them to be their endorser. “It’s the first time Nathan and I worked on a full-blown TV commercial together. I’m so happy that he breezed through it and that we had such a good time doing it.’

RiteMED for Kids is a product category of RiteMed Philippines, Inc. Under its portfolio are four hero products, including multivitamins and ascorbic acid.

Camille is enjoying a second wind in her career. She co-hosts a long-running talk show, “MARS” on GMA News TV. She also helps run Divine Angels Montessori, a family-owned school in Cainta, Rizal. (NESTOR CUARTERO)
