Behind the tough talk and a promise of iron fist governance, Liberal Party standard-bearer Manuel A. Roxas II said his rival Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte is really a coward.

The proof, according to Roxas, is Duterte’s continuous refusal to reveal the record of transactions at least in one bank account at the Bank of the Philippine Islands despite mounting calls even from his supporters.

“Sen. (Antonio) Trillanes complied with all your condition to open account and now you backed out? Obviously Mayor Duterte you have something to hide,” said Roxas.

“This is the truth. What Mayor Duterte did today was an act of cowardice. Why don’t you face the truth? Why are you hiding the truth?” he added.

Roxas was referring to yesterday’s supposed faceoff of Trillanes and Duterte at the BPI Julia Vargas branch in Pasig City. But there was no spark in yesterday’s faceoff aside from the word war of the supporters of Duterte and Trillanes.

The camp of Duterte had said they will only sign a waiver for Duterte’s bank account if Trillanes could present an affidavit detailing how he was able to get the bank records. Trillanes complied but still, there was no waiver.
