In one of the last photo to perhaps show former senator and coach Robert “Sonny” Jaworski donning a Toyota uniform, the Living Legend is shown here getting past Great Taste import Charles Thompson in a PBA Open conference matchup on September 4, 1983.
Toyota went on to defeat Great Taste that night (152-127). Discoverers’ import Charles Thompson would eventually be given his walking papers, one of four reinforcements sent home that conference.
1983 was also the same year when Great Taste acquired first Fil-Am Ricardo Brown, William “Bogs” Adornado (from the U-Tex Wranglers) and Alejo Alolor from Galerie Dominique.
